Before any cell turns cancerous, the cell has normal chromatin in the DNA and normal proteins making up the cell nucleus. Chromatin is a protein complex that controls gene expression and DNA replication. When a cell goes astray, normal gene inactivation in the nucleus depends on the recruitment of various enzymes to control the DNA within the chromosome. Radiation damage along with many different toxins and metals interfere with these required enzymes, leading to uncontrolled cell growth. Vitamins and trace elements are critical cofactors in all of the body’s enzyme production and without certain vitamins and other nutrients, the process of self-destruction in rogue cells shuts down. Good health does not come from drugs, chemicals, surgeries and processed foods. Health is a lifestyle, not a whimsical pursuit of on-again off-again diets or taking of vitamins because of clever advertising or anecdotal advice. By the time cancer shows up, the damage has been going on for a while.
